Basic Steps to Receive Your Vioxx Award

Settlement options for when you receive your approved Vioxx Settlement Award:

  • Lump sum cash payment if you are ready to receive your payment now
  • Defer and receive payment over time through a Structured Settlement

1. You must possess your Notice of Points Award Letter which you will receive from your attorney. You will receive a Notice of Points Award Letter for both your interim and final payments. This document will outline your awarded points. Note - the amount of points awarded to your claim is directly correlated to the amount of settlement monies that you were determined entitled to receive as a result of your use of Vioxx.

2. You can either Accept or Reject your Points Award. Should you desire to appeal your points award, then you must file that appeal to the Special Master within 15 days of your receipt of the Points Award Letter.

3. If you accept your Points Award, you can either take the correspsonding settlement monies in a Lump Sum format or choose to receive those monies over a period of time through a tax-free and guaranteed* Structured Settlement.

4. If you choose to receive your settlement monies in a lump sum and would like information on conservative taxable solutions, please contact FORGE Consulting at 866-68-FORGE. To receive your lump sum, no further action is required, as the money will be sent to your attorney for immediate disbursement to you.

5. If you choose to receive your settlement monies over a period of time through a Tax-Free Structured Settlement Annuity or would like to receive some additional information about the various ways in which you can choose to receive your settlement monies, please contact your settlement consultant. If you are not working with a settlement consultant, please contact FORGE Consulting at 866-68-FORGE.

6. To defer your payment for any reason, including learning about whether or not a Structured Settlement is right for you:

  • Contact your attorney within 15 days of receiving your Notice of Points Award Letter, and
  • Tell your attorney that you desire to withhold the immediate payment of your settlement award and that you are interested in learning more about a Structured Settlement Annuity, then
  • Ask your attorney to contact their settlement consultant or FORGE Consulting to learn more about a Structured Settlement opportunity that may be right for you.

*Guarantees are based on the claims-paying ability of the issuing life insurance company.
