Spooner graduated with Honors from Rutgers University in 1994, where he played football for the Scarlett Knights. After graduation, Spooner worked within a regional engineering/consulting firm located in Atlanta, Georgia specializing in Capital Program Management, Design and Implementation of Roadway, Bridge, and Railway Infrastructure. Specifically, Spooner managed the planning processes required for the implementation of major transportation projects funded by private, local, state and federal dollars. His planning efforts would result in the avoidance and minimization of community and environmental impacts associated with each project.

In 2003 Spooner, with his partners, founded Forge Consulting, LLC. Since that time Spooner has applied his planning education and background to his work as a settlement planner, helping plaintiffs and their families understand the available choices that occur at the time of settlement and the potential results associated with each option. Spooner provides clients with the information they need to put well designed, diversified plans into place. Spooner is regularly invited to speak to Continuing Legal Education Seminars within programs associated with Settlement Disbursement issues.

Spooner and his wife Denise live in Northeast Georgia where they are raising their four sons. He and his family are members of Bethany Baptist Church in Hartwell Georgia and are also active within their community. Spooner is a City Council appointed member of the City of Hartwell Historic Preservation Commission and Denise volunteers for the Hartwell Junior Service League and serves as a local PTO President.
