Before graduating from Newberry College as a H. Lee Atwater Endowed Scholar for Political Science, and President of his fraternity, Michael began an early career in lobbying and public relations. Michael’s early work with Greenville , SC based Brett Public Relations set him on the fast track in the South Carolina governmental affairs arena. For almost 10 years, Michael has lobbied and consulted clients before the South Carolina General Assembly, Regulatory Agencies, and the Governor’s Office. Most recently, his work over the past five years as chief lobbyist for the South Carolina Trial Lawyers Association, during some it’s toughest legislative battles, has earned him the respect of plaintiff's lawyers, legislators, both Democrats and Republicans, and colleagues around the state. It has also given him widespread knowledge of the plaintiff’s bar and the challenges they face. His extensive skills, expertise to negotiate, and talent to look beyond the present, make Michael a valuable asset to the FORGE team, and ensure their clients specific needs are represented above all.
